Welcome to Scru (Political Correctness)!

Hello and welcome to Scru! Scru is a blog in which my team and I will be posting different comments and viewpoints about current national and international events. The title (as some of you may have wondered) refers to our outlook on a certain issue that seems to be getting rapidly worse in the United States today: Political correctness. As a matter of fact that is the issue that we will be covering today!

"Scru Political Correctness"

This is a pivotal moment in our country's history. Times are changing and so are people. And here in lies the interesting predicament: when should political correctness stop? To me, it should stop the moment the progress or safety of our nation is at stake. Now, you may be sitting there wondering how political correctness "endangers our nation". Well you're in luck! I'll let you know what I think. Over the past decade or so, the U.S. has seen an overwhelming influx of immigrants not from accross the Rio Grand, but from accross the ocean. That's right, the number of immigrants from Islamic nations has increased. Hang with me; getting to the point... Immigration and Islam is not what I'm arguing against (I think legal immigration is a great thing!). It's the communities that they build up that pose the biggest problem. Take France for example: Southern France has had a growing problem among these communities. The occupants us political correctness as an excuse, claiming discrimination! They use this so much so that the government starts to leave these communities alone for fear of lawsuites and hate crimes. These communities are even getting their own schools! Hmm... Is it just me... or aren't these "abused and discriminated peoples" discriminating against the country in which they reside? Here in America, we see similar claims from our politicians. Obama pulled the "race card" long before I thought he would. If he's playing off of the publicity of possibly being the first (let me say) "African American" (don't want to offend anyone!) president, then shouldn't he accept that people will talk about him being the first black president? How can he campaign for equality when he puts himself on a pedestal creating these racial lines. Uhh... We (as a people) draw these political and racial lines ourselves. So maybe if we stopped doing so it would be less of a Race Race and more of a Political Race (I'll save my rant on the presidential candidates for tomorrow). In closing, I believe that we have become a society so focused on not hurting anyones feelings that we've begun to hurt ourselves. Our government is unable (if not incapable) of doing the right thing, because the MAJORITY might agree with it (ie. Prayer in schools). Heaven forbid someones feelings get hurt. What do you think? Feel free to leave your intelligent comments below.

Hmm, I must say I agree! Political correctness has gone far beyond the simple, honest desire to not hurt feelings these days. Nor dor I agree with the immigration, which is quickly getting beyond control. How shall we give you a job if you are coming in illegally? How shall that be fair? And another thing I disagree with...the notion that everyone ought to speak Spanish, simply because we are quickly becoming a dominantly Hispanic nation due to illegal immigrants. Well, I for one think that they ought to learn our language. You come to our country, you ought to learn our language. If I moved to Mexico, i'd learn Spanish. If I moved to France, i'd learn French. If I moved to Italy, i'd learn Italian. It's just common sense.
